![]() ![]() ![]() I have a static ip configured on the WHS with the dns that was displayed whith the command line promp of ipconfig /all. Trying to resolve MX records for .ĮRROR: MX records for domain could not be resolvedĬonnecting to TCP/IP address in MX records for local domain domain .ĮRROR: MX records for local domain could not be resolved Trying to connect to TCP/IP address 83.169.11.240 on port 25. IPv6 support is not available in operating system. ![]() HMailServer version: hMailServer 5.3.3-B1879 ![]() I came up with these errors when running the hMail diagnostics: Local host name = Public IP and unless you are planning to send out via another server, I would leave Remote host name blank.Īccording to the RFC's you are not required to have a FQDN, however I doubt that you will succeed since a common anti-spam trick is to reject mail from senders without a FQDN or a DNS A record or a DNS MX record.I can telnet my WHS successfully and went through the hMailServer troubleshooting guide. Public IP address should be fine as domain. I read the documentation but and searched through the internet but nothing helped me in my case, so any one have an idea? Īlso shouldn't i port forward my router to route each incoming request to port 25 to my internal ip (192.168.1.5) on port 25 ? Supposing that my static public IP address is (132.132.132.132) and my static internal ip address is (192.168.1.5) What values i have to put in each of the following fields :ġ-Domain name : since i don't have a domain name should i put here my public static ip address (132.132.132.132) or my internal ip address (192.168.1.5) or something else ?.Ģ- in settings>smtp>"delivery of email" what value should i assign to both "local host name" and "remote host name" ?. I have a public static IP address but not a registered domain name, what i want to do is to configure hmailserver so i can send emails through it to other people who uses different email providers on the internet while i don't want to receive any email ( So i don't want to worry about configuring MX record). ![]()
